Who: PhD students from the Faculty of Science
When: 29 July 2019
Where: University of East Anglia, Norwich
Great to be back at my Alma Mater on a sunny day for an infographics workshop with an interdisciplinary group of PhD students from across UEA’s Faculty of Science.
In the morning session, we worked through the design principles of colour, image, type and composition, with some lively debate about typesetting and text justification.
After a walkthrough of Affinity Designer the students were quickly creating illustrations including some excellent foxes. A few highlights of which are presented below:
After lunch, the students arranged themselves into teams, and worked on an infographic challenge, using some information from WHO and CDC on Vaccination. The teams were often working with the same data, so really interesting to see the different approaches on display. The students voted for their favourite graphics via Slack.
Thanks for having us UEA!
